Our speaker, Rebecca Zerwas, will discuss major issues currently in discussion at the Public Utility Commission of Texas, including projects pending following the 86^th Legislature and competitive market design matters.

Rebecca Zerwas is currently the Division Director, Market Analysis at the Public Utility Commission of Texas in Austin.  Her division is responsible for regulatory policy and implementation matters across the Commission’s electric, water, and telecommunication utility jurisdictions.  She also leads the division’s efforts with respect to market design issues at the ISO/RTO level. 
 
Previously, Rebecca spent time as a Regulatory Manager at CenterPoint Energy focusing on issues at the Texas Legislature, ERCOT, and the Public Utility Commission.  Rebecca also served as a Manager on the Gulf Coast Regulatory team at NRG Energy focusing on markets and emerging energy technologies.  During her time at NRG, she served in various leadership roles within the ERCOT stakeholder process, including time as Chair of the Retail Market Subcommittee and a task force under the Technical Advisory Committee.  Rebecca started her energy career as a Market Analyst at the Public Utility Commission, where she led wholesale and retail market project teams for a diverse group of subject matters including smart grid; resource adequacy; demand response; energy storage; ERCOT oversight; energy efficiency; metering; and renewable energy technologies.  Rebecca has a prior background in project management and consultancy.
