“What the Heck Is Emotional Intelligence? And Why Should We Care?”

Please join us for what promises to be an enlightening and inspiring presentation by Cecilia Rose, PCC, a renowned and much sought-after business relationship expert who specializes in coaching senior level executives as well as their executive leadership teams.

We all have different personalities, different wants and needs, and different ways of showing our emotions. Navigating through all of this artfully calls on our ability to be adept and self-aware and other-aware emotionally – especially if we hope to succeed in life.  IQ will get you hired. EQ will get you promoted. Many companies now use EQ testing to hire new staff.

EQ is the ability to recognize your emotions, understand what they're telling you, and realize how your emotions affect people around you. It also involves your perception of others: when you understand how they feel, this allows you to manage relationships with team members, bosses or direct reports more effectively. People with high EQ are usually successful in most things they do. Why? Because they’re the ones that others want on their team. When people with high EQ send an email, it gets answered. When they need help, they get it. Because they make others look good and feel good, they go through life much more easily than people who are easily frustrated, upset or angered. The ability to manage people and relationships is very important in all leaders, so developing and using your EQ can be a good way to show others the leader inside of you. The good news is that EQ can be learned and developed.
