"A Conversation on the Federal Reserve and the Economy"

Please join us for lunch with Daron Peschel, Senior Vice President in Charge at the Houston office of the Federal Reserve Bank. Daron will present an overview of the purposes and functions of our nation’s central bank and a discussion of the regional economy.

As the Senior Vice President in Charge of the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank and a member of the Bank’s Senior Management Committee, Daron oversees the activities of the Federal Reserve in the Gulf Coast region. Since joining the Federal Reserve in 1989, he has served in numerous analytical and official roles including cash operations, financial and risk management, administrative services, public outreach, and the board of directors. He also served on special assignment at the Federal Reserve System Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. 
 
An advocate of business and financial education, Daron serves on the University of Texas McCombs School of Business Alumni Board, Sam Houston State University Chair of Banking Advisory Board, and the Junior Achievement Gulf Coast Board of Directors. Active in the Houston community, he serves on Central Houston Board of Directors and the Buffalo Bayou Partnership Board of Directors. Daron holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters of Business Administration in Banking and Financial Institutions from Sam Houston State University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Houston Class XXVII, the Center for Houston’s Future, the Federal Reserve senior management training program, and numerous other executive education programs.
