"Energy Reform in Mexico: Implications for the Energy Sector"

Our speaker Marcelo Mereles Gras, Partner at EnergeA, will explain the energy reform that was recently approved by the Mexican Government and its implications on the Mexican Power Market. It will focus on the expected changes, on the new regulatory framework and the opportunities that arise from this reform.

Gras served as head of international affairs at the Directorate General of PetrĂ³leos Mexicanos between 2007 and 2009. Previously, he worked in Pemex Financial Analysis Coordinator (2001-2006), where he was responsible for financial statement analysis and evaluation of investment projects for Pemex Exploration and Production, Pemex Refining, among other areas. Outside the energy sector, Gras has served as Chief of Staff of the Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare (2009-2010), and as Chief of the International Affairs Unit of the Secretariat (2010-2011). He also worked as a consultant in the Attorney General's Office (2006) and as deputy director of International Information on the Presidency of the Republic (1996-1999). He has a degree in International Relations from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM). In 2001, he earned a Masters in International Affairs from The Fletcher School, Tufts University.
