Professional Bio
Vijay Betanabhatla is the Director of Electric Utilities at STACK Infrastructure, a leading global data center developer. In this role, he leads STACK’s power strategy and delivery, partnering closely with electric utilities, ISOs, regulators, and vendors to enable reliable, scalable, and sustainable energy solutions for hyperscale data center growth.
With over two decades of leadership experience across utilities, ISOs, consulting, and emerging technologies, Vijay has been at the forefront of power system transformation and technology adoption. Prior to joining STACK, he served as Head of Power and Global Business Development Director at SLB, where he led initiatives driving power sector adoption of Geothermal, Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS), and Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) technologies worldwide.
Earlier in his career, Vijay held management consulting roles at Guidehouse and Baker Tilly, where he led projects on Puerto Rico’s grid reconstruction, renewable energy deployment on tribal lands, and power system modernization initiatives. He also spent a decade at ERCOT, working on voltage stability, control room situational awareness, wind integration, and the Texas nodal market implementation.
Vijay has been actively engaged with the Gulf Coast Power Association for many years, contributing to multiple annual conference organizing committees. He is especially grateful and proud to have chaired the 2023 GCPA Spring Conference in Houston.
Vijay has served on the boards of the Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) Council and CleanTX (formerly the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Alliance) and was an Energy Transition Fellow at the UT Energy Institute. He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from UT Arlington and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas.
