The spread of COVID-19 in Texas has caused changes in customer demand patterns with implications for the upcoming summer and beyond. Join ERCOT’s Senior Director of System Planning Warren Lasher for a review of ERCOT’s load impact analysis, as well as the results of the final Seasonal Assessment of Resource Adequacy (SARA) for summer 2020 and the May Capacity, Demand and Reserves Report. Much has changed in the ERCOT region since the preliminary SARA report was released in early March 2020. Warren will discuss the updated forecasts and implications for reserve adequacy in ERCOT.

As Senior Director of System Planning for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT), Warren Lasher is responsible for transmission planning, load forecasting and resource adequacy analyses for the ERCOT interconnection. Warren has been at ERCOT for over fifteen years; before this he was employed by the Southern Company in Birmingham, Alabama, where he worked in the Engineering and the Generation Planning organizations. Warren has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, and graduate degrees in Environmental Management and Computer Science.
