Energy storage has received considerable attention as battery costs have declined and as certain parts of the country look to a future with ever greater penetration of intermittent renewable generation. John Hejkal will discuss the prospects for energy storage in ERCOT as market and regulatory conditions continue to evolve. John Hejkal, an associate in Tenaska, Inc.’s Strategic Development & Acquisitions Group, has wide-ranging experience in the energy industry. His responsibilities include quantitative analysis and strategic initiatives within the Group, as well as project origination. He is currently leading Tenaska’s energy storage efforts in ERCOT and elsewhere. Prior to his current role, Hejkal worked as a market risk consultant in the natural gas industry. Before making the transition to energy, Hejkal was a researcher at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Hejkal holds a BA in economics and Latin from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a PhD in economics from the University of Iowa.
