Beyond ERCOT, there are six other structured markets in the USA, two in Canada and a Mexico wholesale electric market in its infancy.  Like ERCOT, these markets are complex and continuously evolving.   Barbara Clemenhagen will provide a high level overview of each of the markets and new initiatives being proposed, evaluated, or recently implemented.  Where there are differences, we also find similarities between each of these markets.  Each are experiencing challenges with facilitating higher renewable penetrations within their respective regions, managing the impacts of potential and scheduled retirements of generation units, considering the reliability and market impacts related to fuel supply and availability….. and more.
