Austin Energy General Manager Jacqueline Sargent will discuss her priorities for Austin Energy, the City of Austin’s electric utility. She also will share how Austin Energy’s innovative approach to modernizing the electric grid and collaborating with customers and stakeholders is creating value for the community.

Jacqueline Sargent serves as General Manager of Austin Energy, the country’s seventh largest municipally-owned electric utility. She was appointed to lead the utility in August 2016, bringing with her nearly 30 years of utility experience and a passion for transformative technology and excellent customer service. Ms. Sargent started her career in 1988 with the Black Hills Corporation in Rapid City, South Dakota, and rose to the position of Vice President of Power Supply and Renewables Integration. In 2010, she joined Austin Energy as Senior Vice President of Power Supply and Market Operations. Then in 2012, she was asked to join the Platte River Power Authority as General Manager and Chief Executive Officer. In 2016, Ms. Sargent returned to Austin Energy as its General Manager.

 

Ms. Sargent’s industry leadership extends beyond Austin. She currently serves on the boards of directors for both the Texas Public Power Association and the American Public Power Association (APPA) and is a member of the Executive Committee of APPA. Additionally she serves on the board of directors of the Large Public Power Council (LPPC) and sits on the Steering Committee. Ms. Sargent is a licensed professional engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Technology Management from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. She is the recipient of the 2017 RMEL Distinguished Leadership Award.

 

POLICY FOR NON PRE-PAID LUNCHEON REGISTRATIONS IN THE EVENT OF A SOLD-OUT LUNCHEON: In order to accommodate walk-ins at sold-out luncheons, any registrations that are not pre-paid during the online registration process will be held only until 11:55 AM for the original registrants. At 11:55 AM, any available non pre-paid seats will be released for purchase by walk-in registrants. Seats will be allocated to walk-in registrants based on the time of the walk-in registrants arrival. If a non pre-paid original registrant should arrive after 11:55 AM, they will be directed to register as a walk-in registrant and will be reallocated a seat only after all earlier arriving walk-ins have been seated. SINCE MANY AUSTIN LUNCHES SELL OUT, GCPA STRONGLY ENCOURAGES YOU TO PRE-PAY FOR YOUR LUNCHEON IN ORDER TO GUARANTEE YOUR SEAT.
