"Innovations in Power Generating Equipment: Higher Efficiency & More Flexibility"

Our speaker Zeryai Hagos, Director of Regional Marketing at GE Power, will provide a technology update, highlighting recent advancements made in power generating equipment. Zeryai will cover innovations in conventional natural gas fired, wind and solar technologies, as well as recent developments in energy storage and hybrid technologies. He will also share GE’s five-year view of future demand for new power generating equipment in the U.S.

As the Director of Regional Marketing for GE's Power business, Zeryai is responsible for leading regional growth initiatives, shaping business strategy based on developments in the power markets and supporting GE’s strategic account customer relationships. He has worked at GE for 14 years, including roles with GE Energy Consulting, and various strategic marketing roles with GE’s energy businesses. Zeryai’s responsibilities have included, managing GE's long term power market forecast in the US region. He has performed numerous power plant valuation studies advising banks, developers, utilities on the projected market and financial performance of investments. He has also led multiple renewable integration studies and evaluated the system impacts of new regulations and policies. Zeryai has authored comments filed with state and federal governments for proposed energy policies and regulations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and political science from Bucknell University and a master’s degree in economic forecasting at the State University of New York at Albany.
