In July of 2010, FERC Staff issued the National Action Plan on Demand Response. This plan was required by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA), and the Commission is now working with DOE on an implementation plan. As an exampleof tools that could be developed under the National Action Plan, FERC has developed and posted a screening tool, the Demand Response Impact and Value Estimation (DRIVE) model, which is available for download on the FERC website (www.ferc.gov). Julie will also cover FERC's Smart Grid Policy Statement issued last year, the recent request for comments on rates, and accounting financial reporting requirements for new electric storage technologies.
